He attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre in 2010. He went on to receive a Master’s degree in Drama Education (K-12) in 2012. During his time at Ohio State, he had the opportunity to perform in various semi-professional performances, in acting, design, and direction. After graduation, Chris taught in Columbus City Schools at West High School. He re-established and implemented a student-driven educational theatre program full of student original works and engaging theatrical opportunities and productions. Chris made the difficult decision and left West High School in 2018 and joined on at Whetstone High School. He co-created and artistically directs the mainstage productions for Whetstone Academy of Performing Arts. In 2019 they presented Hairspray the Broadway musical and were set to produce Beauty and the Beast this Spring. Chris thoroughly enjoys the free world of improvisation and directing scenes - pushing actors beyond their potential using Stanislavski methods. Chris loves engaging his theatre classes with kinesthetically-driven ensemble work in which every student can be successful by participating. He feels blessed to be among such an incredible staff of artists here at J.A.Z. and looks forward to seeing your student(s) in the Acting For The Dancer class!
